Sean McNulty

Sean McNulty is Principal and Co-Founder of XIB Financial Inc, a Toronto based capital markets consulting and advisory firm with a specialized focus on the globally emerging cannabis sector.  Sean has been an active investor, advisor, and business developer in the sector having worked with many of the industry’s most prominent companies. Sean has completed extensive M&A advisory work with Canopy Growth Corporation, and most recently was one of the founding members of Canopy Rivers Corporation, an investment platform structured in partnership with Canopy Growth that provides growth capital and strategic support to prospective companies within the globally emerging cannabis industry.

Prior to founding XIB, Sean worked at one of Canada’s most successful hedge funds, MM Asset Management (“MMAM”), where he was part of a 5-person investment team responsible for managing an event-driven investment portfolio. Before joining MMAM, Sean worked on the institutional equity sales desk at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (“CIBC”), where he was responsible for managing the firm’s relationship with Canadian, US and international hedge fund clients. Prior to joining the equity sales desk at CIBC, Sean was part of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking group where he accumulated over $3.0 billion in direct financial advisory experience.

Sean is a CFA Charterholder and was valedictorian of his graduating class at the University of New Brunswick where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in finance and human resource management.
